We all get older. But that doesn’t mean we have to stop having adventures. Heading out solo can be daunting, and it is not necessarily helpful to try to take inspiration from people half our age. But being older doesn’t mean you can’t venture out on excursion alone. This page is here to document some of my adventures and hopefully be an inspiration to other women who either cannot find a traveling companion, or, like me, enjoy seeing the world solo.

Until I figure out how to make this page “blog style” I will add most recent information to the top.

Scottish Isles – 2018

This trip consisted of visits to the Isles of Harris and Lewis, Sky and the Orkney mainland, Westray, and Papa Westray, also in the Orkneys. Again, I hiked, biked and bused.  No trains this time.  But again, a couple rides from kindly strangers that ended up being friends.

WALES-2017

I often explore on my own but the trip to Wales was the first big adventure overseas, without a detailed plan, and without other people involved.  I walked, hiked, biked, rode buses and trains, and occasionally got rides from kindly strangers.  There were struggles and weather and glorious times, new friends and life-changing moments.
